Inspiring creativity + confidence in your wardrobe
Last week I went to a work conference and had so much fun connecting with old friends. My favorite part of any trip though is figuring out all of my outfits. Here is a round up of my daily looks during the conference and travel. I tried to pack lightly this go around so you can see that I used pieces more than once with each outfit throughout the week. What is your go-to piece for travel outfits?
One tip that can be helpful with packing and outfit planning during a work conference is picking versatile pieces, mainly tops, that can be paired with business pants/skirts for the day and jeans for the evening.
Our first day was mostly consumed with travel but I also had plans for dinner with friends that evening. This look was comfy for the road and fitting to wear hanging out with friends once I got into town. I felt that these gold studded mules dressed this casual, black tee and jeans look up, just right.
The first day of the conference started out with a welcome luncheon and ended with an evening social. With the temperatures in the 30s & 40s, I wanted to be cozy in this turtleneck and be on the professional side of business causal. Of course I had to top this black and white combo off with my favorite velvet and pearl headband.
Now what’s a conference without sporting the power blazer at least once! I absolutely LOVE the way this blazer fits and adds just the right amount of personality while still being professional. During the day I carried my conference bag with all of my must-haves: padfolio, water bottle, etc.
That evening I kept the same black top on and threw on some jeans. Since we were downtown and had a lot of walking to do I had to pull out my sneakers. This longer black coat was also great for a business look during the day and for the colder weather in the evening.
The last conference day was a half day ending with a farewell luncheon so I went for a more casual look. I love this top with the ruffle detailing around the neck, giving some texture to this look and allowed me to pack away my necklaces and earrings. I also finished out my looks with these black studded mules because they are just too cute.
