When my hair isn’t in a messy bun I have two ways of styling it: curly and straight. For my everyday look I like to keep it simple by styling it straight. I use to blow dry then straighten my hair with a straightener, my go-to method since 8th grade, but I wanted more volume in my hair. Then about 5 months ago I heard about the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer Hot Air Brush and haven’t looked back. I have loved this styling tool because it is easy to use and gives my hair more body. Here is how I use it along with the products to keep my hair shiny and smooth.
Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer Hot Air Brush
This hair styling tool is the ticket! It blow drys and straightens my hair at the same time which has cut down on my morning routine. I’ve never been able to get the round brush + blow drying technique down so thankfully this tool does it for me. The combination of the nylon pin & tufted bristles have helped with detangling and getting volume. I love the oval shape as well which makes styling so quick and easy. It has 4.4/5 star on Amazon with 42,000 reviews, so you know it’s good.
Step 1: Prepping the hair. After washing my hair I spritz a small amount of the Drybar Leave-In Conditioner. This really helps keep my hair smooth and tames the frizz. Then I add a little dollop of the Drybar Heat Protectant. Anytime I am putting heat on my hair I always add a heat protectant and this one is lightweight and has really helped minimize the damage. I then let my hair air dry for about 20 minutes as this allows me to put less heat on my hair while styling. I usually put my makeup on or pick out my clothes for the day while it is air drying.
Step 2: Time to style. I separate my hair into three different sections: working on the bottom first, then the middle and the top for last. While I am working on a section I pin the rest of my hair up with these Drybar Hair Clips. I take about 2 inches width of hair, beginning at the root and run the Revlon One-Step Brush on the ‘High’ setting through my hair to the end in a C motion. This gives the bottom of my hair a slight curl underneath. Based on the amount of curl you would like you can adjust your shape. From there I repeat with each section until my hair is completely dry.
Step 3: The finishing touches. Once everything is dry if there are any pieces that need to be touched up I use the ‘Cool’ setting to set my style. To finish it off I spray the Drybar Shine Mist to keep my hair smooth and manage any fly aways. That’s it! This style usually lasts me for 3 or 4 days and tends to not get as oily as my hair use to when I would blow dry then straighten it with a straightener. To freshen up my hair from day to day and keep the volume my favorite dry shampoo is Dove’s Volume and Fullness.
I am more of a visual learner so here is a video tutorial as well using the Revlon One-Step Brush.
